The Story of Slåtten
A piece of history
The property has for decades belonged to the famous Norwegian explorers and writers Helge Ingstad and his wife Anne Stine. You will find in addition to the main house, his great old "writing house", Anne Stine's weaving house, stables and sheds. Helge, Anne Stine and their team could after many years of work in Canada eventually confirm saga history of the Vikings going to America 500 years before Christopher Columbus. Time Magazine rated this as one of the most important discoveries in the 1900s.
